Sakurajima observed by ”SHIKISAI”
The second image shows observed data of “Aerosol Optical Thickness,” which represents the amount of aerosols (fine dust or ash floating in the air).
When a volcano erupts on a large scale, vast amounts of volcanic ash and dust can cover the sky, but the Shikisai is able to monitor the condition of volcanic plumes.
